Semifinal end in 's-Hertogenbosch

Martina & Anna-Lena's run came to an end in the semfinals earlier this week. They were beaten in straight sets 6-4 6-3 by the #2 seeds, Anabel Medina Garrigues and Dinara Safina, who went on to win the tournament. Anna-Lena suffered a thigh injury two days earlier in her singles match where she was forced to withdraw and it is possible that she had still not fully recovered when they took to the court for their doubles semifinal. Their next tournament will be Wimbledon, their first Grand Slam tournament together.

On Wednesday, Martina and the top-ranked wheelchair tennis player, Esther Vergeer, took part in a short hitting session, seemingly in conjunction with the Laureus Sports Academy. I'm only going by the pictures available - Photo One, Photo Two - and a report in Dutch here. If someone can help with the translation, that would be great. Thanks in advance!

Many thanks to Saddha for translating the Dutch article:

Esther Vergeer will give an exhibition on wednesday morning against former American top ranking MN. After this she will sign her contract as ambassador of Laureus.

The article goes on about dutch sports persons and a member of the royal family committed to Laureus and its commitment to disadvantaged youths throughout the world.
