Yesterday, we learned the sad news that Leander had withdrawn from the Australian Open due to his ankle injury. Our best wishes to him for a speedy recovery. The mixed doubles draw came out today and Martina is playing with Max Mirnyi. They are the #7 seeds and have drawn Todd Woodbridge & Eleni Daniilidou in their opening match. Martina & Max have not played together since the 2001 U.S. Open - they played 3 events that year and compiled a losing 2-3 record. We hope for better things here in Melbourne.
