Rodale Press recently announced they had acquired the North American rights to Martina's upcoming diet & fitness book 'The Shape of Your Life.' You can read the press release on their website here. It's scheduled for a Winter 2006 release.
I'm not sure if this is the same as another alleged upcoming book 'The Ball Doesn't Know Your Age' which is scheduled for a June 1 release this year. At least per Amazon.co.uk. If this is the same book, I find it very surprising that there would be such an extended time lag between the British and the North American publication. But then again, I'm not too familiar with how these things work in the publishing world. Anyone have any thoughts to share?

the same happened to "being myself", a.k.a "martina", etc, (i have no idea how many titles did that book have)...
no clue is it going to be the same book although it looks like...and if it is the same one there are many reasons for different timing either from the publisher's or author's side...

Martina's first autobiography was released almost simultaneously in 1985. I've gone back and read previous articles and it looks like it came out in England around Wimbledon that year and a month or two later it was on the New York Times bestseller list. The only difference seemed to be the title which was just "Martina" in the USA and "Being Myself" everywhere else.
This time, the time lag seems to be extraordinarily long. June 2005 in England. And then Winter 2006 in the USA. That could be either January/February 2006 or November/December 2006. Anywhere from six months to a full year and half!! Unbelievable!
